DRM (Video Playback Issue)
What is DRM?
DRM (Digital Rights Management) is a copyright protection mechanism. When you try to play content protected by DRM, the website checks if the necessary DRM software is available. Most browsers use Widevine, a DRM technology developed by Google.
Floorp does not currently provide official Widevine support. Therefore, DRM-protected videos or music cannot currently be played in Floorp.
Current Status
The Floorp Project is currently pursuing official Widevine support and has started the process of contacting Widevine regarding the requirements for integrating Widevine into Floorp.
Widevine integration requires legal and technical onboarding with Google, and may also require product-specific signing, validation, distribution, and security requirements. Because these requirements and the approval process are controlled by Widevine, we cannot currently provide an estimated release date or guarantee that Widevine support will be approved.
We will update this page when there is confirmed progress that can be shared publicly.
How to Play DRM-Protected Content
You can use major browsers like Firefox or Chrome that have the necessary licenses.
